Filter frontman Richard Patrick opened up about receiving death threats over his criticism of President Donald Trump.
The "Take a Picture" hitmaker admitted in a new interview that he and his family have been targeted with death threats, which has forced him to pare down his vocal outspeaking.
"I've received death threats, so that's why I've kind of silenced myself, because I have kids, and I was doxed, and there was a whole bunch of s--- that went down that I don't want to really talk about," the rocker told Rocking with Jam Man. "So, I've kind of had to shut up. Filter's a big band and we've traveled the world over, but I can't afford 24-hour security. Because the death threats are real. You have to take them seriously."
Back in 2017, the band's scheduled concert at the Speaking Rock Entertainment Center in El Paso, Texas, was scrapped due to an anti-Trump video posted to their Facebook page, per Variety.
Filter, who released their latest album, The Algorithm, in 2023, are currently recording their new album, The Antidote.
