A police dog from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana successfully located two missing 11-year-old children who had become separated from their mother in the Hoosier National Forest. The incident occurred near Sundance Lake, prompting first responders to be dispatched at approximately 5:48 p.m. on Sunday (October 5).

Deputy Cody Loncaric and his K-9 partner, Knox, played a crucial role in the search. Knox, in his first field tracking mission, covered about 550 yards and led rescue workers in the right direction to find the children. The search operation also involved conservation officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Nashville police, and volunteer fire departments from Harrison Township and Southern Brown County.

The initial search efforts did not yield any results until Knox began tracking near the area where the children were last seen. Authorities credited the teamwork of all involved agencies for the successful rescue. The children were found safe, but details about how long they were missing were not disclosed.
