A man accused of attacking the office of Alina Habba, President Donald Trump's lawyer and acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, has been arrested. Keith Michael Lisa, 51, was taken into custody following a manhunt. The FBI had offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Lisa allegedly attempted to enter a federal office building in Newark on Wednesday (November 12) with a bat but was turned away. He later returned without the bat, gained entry, and reportedly destroyed property in the U.S. Attorney's office where Habba works. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrest on X early Saturday (November 15) morning, crediting the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations for their collaborative efforts.
Habba, who previously served as President Trump's personal lawyer, expressed gratitude for the swift action taken by federal agencies. "We got him," she wrote on X, emphasizing that acts of intimidation or violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated.
The arrest comes amidst ongoing legal challenges regarding Habba's appointment as acting U.S. Attorney. President Trump nominated her for the permanent position on July 1, but opposition from New Jersey's Democratic senators has stalled the confirmation process. The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is currently considering a case challenging her appointment.
