A dramatic rescue unfolded at an Easter fair in Ometepec, Mexico, when a woman nearly fell from a malfunctioning carnival ride known as "The Hammer" on Thursday (April 2). The ride began swinging uncontrollably, causing the woman to slip out of her seat. As she dangled precariously, a man on the ground sprinted to her aid, catching her just before she hit the ground.

The incident, captured on camera, sparked panic among onlookers. Bystanders could be heard shouting for riders to hold on as others rushed to help. Despite the terrifying experience, the woman walked away shaken but unharmed. According to officials, four other riders sustained injuries, with two requiring hospital treatment. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Authorities have attributed the ride's malfunction to a mechanical fault. However, some witnesses claim a child may have tampered with the controls, leading to the chaos. The child reportedly fled the scene, and police are searching for him and his parents.

The Guerrero Internal Risk Management and Civil Protection Secretariat confirmed that all rides at the fair had the necessary permits and insurance. They are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the malfunction and ensure future safety standards.
